Today Virgin Atlantic announced that it will be suspending its operations to the Bahamas and Turks & Caicos. The decision comes following network review.
On February 21, 2025, the last flight to Turks & Caicos will operate and on February 23, 2025, the final flight to the Bahamas is scheduled. Passengers who booked after these dates will have the option of getting a full refund or rebooking on alternative flights.
Ambassador of A Virgin Atlantic said: “As we continue to focus on optimising our network, we regularly review the destinations we fly to.
As part of this, we’ve made the decision to increase our frequencies to Antigua, Barbados, and Cape Town next year, and to sadly suspend operations to The Bahamas and Turks and Caicos.
We’re very sorry for the disappointment caused to our customers flying to The Bahamas and Turks and Caicos and anyone booked to travel on these routes from February 24 and February 22 respectively will be contacted with their options.
No flights are known to have been cancelled in the reservation system till August 10, 2024, but the Airline informs customers in advance to allow sufficient time for alternative arrangements. Rebooking options are currently being finalised with other Airlines and after August 9, 2024, available on the Airline website.
The Airline expressed regret for the inconvenience caused by this decision and thanked their customers for their understanding.
