British Airways is part of the Oneworld partnership, which has 15 members. Fiji Airways is the 15th airline to join.
Fiji’s state carrier has been an Oneworld Connect partner for five years, building connections with other airlines. Now, it is a full member.
Oneworld can get to the South Pacific through Fiji Airways, which has a base in Nadi and flights to Oneworld hubs like Sydney, Hong Kong, Los Angeles, and Tokyo.
Customers who are Emerald, Sapphire, or Ruby members of Oneworld can get all of the perks that come with being a full member of Oneworld. These include earning and redeeming miles, status points, priority check-in and boarding, and access to lounges.
Oneworld’s CEO, Nat Pieper, said, “A very warm bula, or hello, to Fiji Airways as they join the Oneworld alliance as our 15th full-member airline.” “With its huge growth, award-winning products and services, and faster connections with all Oneworld member airlines, Fiji Airways will strengthen our position as the best airline alliance for travellers worldwide,” he said.
Andre Viljoen, Managing Director and CEO of Fiji Airways, said, “I am very proud to announce that we are now a full member of the award-winning Oneworld alliance. This is a big step toward our goal of providing the best service and connectivity possible.” As a full member airline, we are excited to improve the travel experience for regular Oneworld alliance flyers by making Fiji and the South Pacific easier to get to and ensuring that all Fiji Airways’ customers can easily connect and have memorable trips across the alliance network.
Oneworld is celebrating 25 years since its founding by American Airlines, British Airways, Cathay Pacific, and Qantas. The new member is one of those four airlines.
