When I started planning a trip to Thailand for the first time, I was overflowing with excitement, yet quietly nervous. But the moment I arrived and was greeted with the incredible warmth and hospitality of the Thai people, every ounce of anxiety dissolved instantly.

You will then have the opportunity to see the many ancient temples found throughout the Old City; shop for unique handicrafts; learn how to create delicious Thai dishes at a Thai cooking class; and possibly visit an eco-friendly Elephant Sanctuary on an optional day trip.

3.A Travel Itinerary of 2-3 Weeks on History, Wildlife and Culture

Based on my recommendations for 2-3 Weeks of Travel through Thailand :

Courier Route – 3 days in Bangkok → Spend 2-3 days in Khao Yai National Park for fantastic Safari Tours and viewing of Wildlife + 2 days biking around the Ancient Temple ruins of either Ayutthaya or Sukhothai in Northern Thailand .

Then Travel for 4-5 days in Chiang Mai before heading off to Chiang Rai to experience the unique appearance of the White Temple and Black Temples.

• Relaxation After All the Action: After experiencing all that Bangkok has to offer, take the time to treat yourself to an inexpensive, yet restorative, Thai massage in a professional and clean massage establishment. You deserve it!

2.Chiang Mai: Heart of the North

Chiang Mai is a city known for having a walled Old part of town and a laid-back atmosphere filled with art.

• Visit the sacred temple of Doi Suthep. Located at the top of a mountain, Doi Suthep will provide beautiful views of the city.
• Enjoy delicious food. Check out the Night Bazaar and Sunday Walking Street, which are full of amazing food to try. In the north part of Thailand , check out Khao Soi (curry noodles), which is a traditional specialty.
• Take your time. Consider taking a class while you are in Chiang Mai, whether it’s learning how to practice Muay Thai, understand and appreciate traditional art forms, or my personal favourite, taking a plant-based (vegan) Thai cooking class. These are essential things to do when visiting Thailand  outside of Bangkok.

3.Places that don’t have a lot of people and can show you more of the history of Thailand .

• Ayutthaya: This was the capital of Thailand  before the Ayutthaya Kingdom fell in the 18th century. You can see many temples built out of brick, where the Buddha’s head is covered by tree roots. Riding bikes would be the best way to see the area.
• Sukhothai: This was the capital of Thailand  before Ayutthaya. The historical park here is usually said to be a more serene place than Ayutthaya’s Bangkok. The ruins in Sukhothai’s historical park are in a wide-open area, and so it’s easy to roam around and enjoy the peaceful environment and ride a bike.
• Chiang Rai is a great place to see the amazing and unique-looking new temples of Wat Rong Khun (White Temple) and Baan Dam (Black Temple). They look completely different from the traditional gold-leaf covered temples of the rest of Thailand .
