LONDON, UK The Jet2.com and Jet2holidays, the British leisure travel sector have officially declared the establishment of a new operational base at London Gatwick (LGW). The move is planned to travel on March 26, 2026, the 14th UK base of the airline and a massive growth to the South East region market.
The opening will mark the addition of six aircraft to the airport by Jet2, of which five are the new fuel-efficient Airbus A321neo model jets to support the high demand by holidaymakers and independent travel agents.

Jet2 is not wasting time by launching with a comprehensive summer schedule and 29 leisure destinations throughout Europe and the Mediterranean. It will take off to Tenerife on the launch day on the first flight, just when the Easter holiday rush of 2026 is in progress.

Highlights of the new Gatwick timetable are:
- High-Frequency Routes: Mallorca (10 weekly flights), Faro (10 weekly flights), and Alicante (5 weekly flights) have been increased massively in capacity.

- Spanish Strongholds: Ibiza, Menorca, Reus, Girona, Malaga, and Canary Islands (Tenerife, Lanzarote, Gran Canaria and Fuerteventura).
- Greek Islands: A huge choice of destinations with Corfu, Crete (Heraklion), Rhodes, Kos, Zante, Skiathos, Kefalonia, Preveza, and Kalamata.
- Other Hotspots: Antalya (Turkey), Paphos (Cyprus), Malta, Naples and Verona (Italy), Pula (Croatia) and Bourgas (Bulgaria).
