Air India has declared that it will operate 78 extra international flights between 10 and 18 March to assist affected passengers in West Asia by the prevailing travel disruptions in the area.
The airline is expanding its operations into some of the largest cities in Europe, the United States and South Asia to offer more alternatives to those who can Facing difficulty securing reliable transportation. The additional flights will increase over 17,600 seats in nine routes.
Key routes and destinations
The new services will primarily be departures out of Delhi and Mumbai. Key updates include:
- Europe: Delhi and Mumbai flights to London Heathrow as well as additional London Heathrow to Delhi flights, and additional flights Delhi- Frankfurt, Paris, Amsterdam and Zurich.
- United States: Delhi-New York (JFK) new flights awaiting final government approval.
- South Asia: Added capacity on flights to Colombo (Sri Lanka) and Male (Maldives).
Safety and reliability
Air India assured that in spite of some parts of the regional airspace being restricted, the company is flying alternative routes which it has found to be safe.
According to Nipun Aggarwal, the Chief Commercial Officer of the airline, the company is still operating scheduled flights to Europe and North America. We believe that these additional flights will provide a much-needed reliability to the passengers that have to travel at this period.

Booking information
These extra flights can be booked by the passengers on the Air India site, mobile application or by the travel agents. These bookings are being opened by the airline in the course of the next few days.
In the case of passengers who have been booked on cancelled flights within the West Asia region, Air India is also providing alternatives of rebooking the flights to a later date at no additional charge or receiving a full refund.
