Virgin Atlantic has confirmed it will begin serving the London Heathrow (LHR) to Seoul Incheon (ICN) route on 29 march 2026, offering British holidaymakers a stylish new direct link to south Korea.
The daily service will be operated by the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner. This expansion was made possible following the merger of Korean air and Asiana airlines, which released ‘remedy slots’ to ensure continued competition on this key long haul corridor. By introducing a new carrier to the market, the move provides passengers with more travel options and is expected to help keep airfares competitive.
The reason why this is good news to travellers.
- The Korean wave: south Korea has long been a global leader in food, fashion and K-pop with new direct flights to and from Seoul, it is now easier than ever to experience the city’s perfect blend of historic royal palaces and state of the art technology.
- Easy Connections: thanks to a partnership between virgin Atlantic and Korean Air, passengers can enjoy smooth connections from Seoul to over 15 destinations across Asia and Oceania, including Japan, Vietnam and Australia.
- Travel in style: there are three cabin classes available on this route. Passengers can choose from the luxury Upper Class (which includes access to the onboard bar), Premium and three tiers of Economy (Delight, Classic and Light), ensuring a comfortable journey for every budget.
